Summer rains have kept us quite green and colorful with summer blooms coming into full force. Daylilies will offer great colors – we have 48 different varieties along the daylily trail – along with hydrangea, roses and all the annuals and perennials blooming in the border.
There are lots of ways to take advantage of our facility. The garden is open 8am-8pm all summer long so you can stroll in the early morning light or in the cooler evenings. We have more than a mile and a half of hiking trails in the woods and river valley where it can be much cooler than out in the sun. Our tram will take you around if you aren’t as mobile or would like to hear about the history of the garden. It departs about every 15-20 minutes from the visitor center on Thursdays 10am -1pm or Sundays 1pm – 4pm.
This weekend we have a couple other ways to enjoy the garden. Saturday July 8th at 2 pm we have the House and Garden tour where we will tour Mr. Schoepfle’s home before a guided tour of the gardens. Sunday July 9th, we are offering an evening session with the tram from 5:30 -7:30 so after a great summer day you can still enjoy the garden.
