No April Fools, Spring has arrived

Schoepfle is starting to see a number of spring blooms.  In addition to the snowdrops, pink dawn viburnum, Lenten rose and forsythia, we are seeing squill, daffodils, glory of the snow, cornelian cherry dogwood, grape hyacinth, hyacinth and daffodils blooming.  A couple of the magnolias are starting to shoe some color as well.  We do see damage from our warm February that revved up the garden only to be slowed by the return of normal to below normal temperatures in March with browned flower petals and leaves, but overall we hope to have a near normal spring and see our trees and plants produce some great color again this year.

Watch here and check the website and Arrowhead for hikes and walks all month long.  The Friends sponsored Hiking Stick program is back and by completing 10 hikes or walks throughout the park by June 30th you will receive your walking stick or badge.  Ask your hike leader for details.
