Thor’s Journey to His New LCMP Home

As we continue to welcome our new male bald eagle, Thor, to the Raptor Center at Carlisle Visitor Center, we CVC Naturalists would like to share a little bit more about him and his journey with you!  He has been at Back To The Wild (Castalia, OH) wildlife and rehabilitation facility since 2010, when he arrived from Oregon, Ohio with a broken wing & soft tissue damage he sustained while fledging, resulting in a permanent wing injury leaving him non-releasable.  In order to make Thor’s summer arrival a reality, it took many phone calls & emails, paperwork, a check-up with a veterinarian, us CVC Naturalists meeting & closely observing Thor “in-person,” as well as preparing the Raptor Center  and his new enclosure for his arrival.  The following photographs document his journey to his new home, click this LINK to view: Thor’s Transfer Day Photographs, enjoy!                           ~CVC Naturalist, Miss Jenn  🙂
