‘Birds of Prey Photo Opportunity’ fun!

095The Carlisle Visitor Center Naturalists would like to THANK all those who came out for our ‘Birds of Prey Photo Opportunity’ program this past Saturday afternoon! During this particular program, CVC Naturalist, Jenn, and seasoned Raptor Corps volunteers, Pam & Tara, brought out four Raptor Center residents: our peregrine falcon (Havoc), red-tailed hawk (Aphrodite), barred owl (Oliver), and screech owl (Smokey) for a “meet & greet” and to be photographed. In addition, one of our newest members of the Raptor Corps, Jody, passed around & talked about raptor natural artifacts (e.g. wings & feathers, talons, pictures, etc.). An educational, engaging, fun-filled afternoon was had by all! Our next ‘BOP Photo Opportunity’ will be held in November to coincide with fall foliage; for date & time, please check our Nov/Dec 2014 Arrowhead program guide coming out this fall. Our next “summer” raptor-related program is our ‘What’s on the Menu?’ program (Saturday 9th 10:00-11:00am in Raptor Center courtyard), during which you will have the unique opportunity to observe us feed some of our Raptor Center residents!

Come meet our male peregrine falcon, Havoc, and our other Raptor Center residents!
