This Epicattleya orchid is a hybrid combining an Epidendrum and Cattleya orchids. The result is lovely. This orchid is called “flame thrower”. Do you see the “flame”?
The second picture is a Brassiocattleya hybrid, combining the Brassio and Cattleya orchids and is called “innocence”. The name also suits this flower well.
Both orchids, as well as others, are currently blooming at the Conservatory at Miller Nature Preserve in Avon.
