Bromeliads in Bloom

Bromeliads are tropical plants, many of which have leaves that grow from a rosette that forms a cup where water collects.  Miller Nature Preserve has several different kinds of bromeliads – some are even flowering.  The flowers can be dramatically different.  The picture on the right has small flowers that just fit inside the cup that holds the water.  The picture on the right has a flower spike that is going to be large.  Both of these can be seen now at Miller Nature Preserve.
